General Information

What is Zog – Live On Stage about?

Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s classic, feel-good story Zog is brought to roaring, soaring life on stage in this delightful musical for children.

Zog is the keenest dragon in Madam Dragon’s school. He’s also the most accident-prone, flying into trees, and even setting his own wing alight. Thankfully, a kind girl comes along to patch up his scratches and scrapes – but can she help him with his biggest challenge yet, so that he can finally win a golden star?

From the producers of Stick Man and Zog and the Flying Doctors, this charming smash-hit show features joyful songs by Joe Stilgoe with beautiful puppets by Little Angel, and is a treat for children and adults alike.

What age range is the show suitable for?

3+ but all ages welcome.

Zog is a great show for all the family – children, parents and grandparents all love the bright, orange dragon and his golden stars.

Are family, group, or early-bird discounts available?

For the Zog tour, please check the ticket booking page of the venue you would like to visit for any offers, as these will vary between venues.

For Zog at Cadogan Hall, there are the following offers.

  • Schools/group offer – Groups of 10+ save 20% (group organisers go free).
  • Family ticket offer (4 people, max. 2 adults). Band C - £68; Band B - £88 and Band A: £108

What should audiences do if a show is sold out?

We will always try and accommodate all audience members by releasing all available seats. However, if a show is sold out, please look for an alternative date at the venue of your choice or check our tour schedule for alternative showings near you - https://zogonstage.com/#tour-dates

Does the show tour nationally, regionally, or internationally?

Zog 2026 is touring nationally.

In the past, we have toured internationally - so watch this space for any updates!

How long does the show typically stay at each venue?

The show can stay at a venue from anything from 1 day to a longer stint of 1 month. Check out your local venue’s show times to find out.

Family & Accessibility

Are children under 2 allowed to attend?

Yes, all are welcome at Zog! We recommend ages 3+ for our shows - however, we understand that parents/guardians may want to bring a younger child or sibling to one of our shows, so they will be allowed into the theatre. In many venues, children aged 2 and below are free if sitting on a parent or guardian’s lap.

Are there relaxed, BSL, captioned, or accessible performances?

Yes, we do offer BSL, captioned, relaxed and accessible performances throughout the tour. This is dependent on the venue and the length of time Zog is playing at each venue. Please check venue specific websites for more info.

There will be relaxed and BSL performances for Zog at the Cadogan Hall in August 2026.

Relaxed: Sunday 9 August, 3.30pm
BSL: Sunday 16 August, 3.30pm

Are booster seats available at venues?

Most of the venues will have booster seats available, but you should check your venues specific website for confirmation.

What is the story of Zog?

What songs are in the show?

The show features original and catchy songs by Joe Stilgoe, who also wrote the songs for The Baddies. You will soon be singing along!

Yes, if you are a fan of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s fantastic story The Gruffalo, then you will also love their story Zog for it's morals, heart and humour.

Do I need to have read the book in order to watch the show?

No, you do not need to have read the book in order to enjoy the live stage show of Zog.
